Eye Doctor FAQs
To make it easier for you to improve and enjoy optimal eye and vision health, Clearfinity Eyecare Optometrist, your local eye doctor in Lorton VA, shares some answers to some commonly asked questions.
How often should I see an eye doctor?
You should have your eyes examined every two years if you are over the age of 18 and under the age of 60. If you suffer from any health concerns, such as diabetes, hypertension or some other medical condition, you should have your eyes checked every year. Children should be seen each year as well because their eyesight can change at any time. Anyone who wears eyeglasses or contact lenses should also make an appointment to have their vision checked annually.
What kind of eye conditions do you provide treatment for?
Vision disorders and diseases can develop at any time. Even though some of them may be linked to environmental factors, others are linked to health and may require ongoing treatment. We provide comprehensive screenings and treatments for many vision disorders, including:
- Diabetic Retinopathy
- And more
Early detection is key in order for our patients to benefit the most from their treatments.
Can I get contacts?
Although contact lenses are highly desirable eyewear, they are not for everyone. People who suffer from dry eye, corneal abnormalities and chronic allergies may not be able to wear them. If you are interested in contacts, our optometrist can discuss their recommendations with you.
What kind of eyewear do you offer?
We carry a very comprehensive line of quality and affordable eyewear for the whole family. From designer brand glasses to contact lenses, we make maintaining optimal vision stylish and easy.
We also offer a wide selection of prescription, nonprescription and safety eyeglasses. We carry many of the best brands in contacts. We also have eyeglass lenses that are treated with special anti-reflective coatings for our patients to choose from as well.
